Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto

We somehow lucked into landing in Fukuoka, Japan, right when the cherry trees were blooming and my senses were taken in. Though the cherry blossoms themselves are gorgeous to behold, the scent that accompanies them might be even more desirable. It’s not that anything so exciting happened on our trip as we were only in the city for three days to get our Korean work visas, but the sights, smells and tastes were tantalizing. The leaves of trees were waxy and beckoned to be touched, so I allowed my hand to roam as I walked down paths. Each flower’s short-lived scent lingered in the air a bit longer thanks to the coaxing of the moist sea breeze. Every sidewalk wore greenery, flowers, fountains or some combination of these. Perhaps it was only because I was on vacation after a rather arduous few months of moving to Korea, job hunting, moving to Yongin and starting a new job, but it was so much more than merely relaxing to just be still and take it all in.
